At SCF we believe discipleship is the goal of every church ministry. What is discipleship? Simply put, discipleship is the prayerful Holy Spirit-backed speaking of the Word of God one to another. It involves walking with one another and remaining open to accountability and church discipline. It can occur one to one or in small groups, following established resources (ex. Fundamentals of the Faith, Simeon Trust) or simply reading through a book of the Bible together with someone younger in the faith. Each ministry that follows, though they differ in their makeup or “trellis”, the heart of discipleship or “vine” work remains the same.

worship service
Sunday Service

How will you or your family connect to SCF? It all starts with our corporate church service every Sunday morning at 9am. You will be welcomed by one of our greeters who are always happy to help with any questions or concerns you may have. There are Bibles available if you would like one to follow along. In these Sunday morning services we worship God together in prayer, in song, in giving, in the reading of God’s Word, in the hearing of the exposition (preaching) of the Bible, and in fellowshipping with one another. The Biblical Ordinance of Communion is administered once a month during our Sunday service, while Believer Baptisms occur every few months. There is a nursery available for parents of children ages 0-3 and there is Sunday school available for children ages 4 to 11 where kids can participate in singing, a Bible lesson, an activity or craft, and a memory verse*. After service, church members are available to answer questions you may have had from the sermon, discuss the gospel (“good news” of Christianity) or baptism with you, pray with you, connect you to a discipleship group, or just get to know each other better over a coffee*. For those who cannot attend in person, services are also live-streamed on YouTube.
Bible study
Thursday Prayer & Bible Study
Our prayer meetings occur every Thursday at 7pm on Zoom. One Thursday of the month is our Family Bible Study also at 7pm on Zoom. This is a time of opening up our Bibles together and working through the Book of Acts verse by verse.

Members will be notified of online conferences which may be of interest in the interim (FEB, TGC, Ligonier, Sing). Our local outreach team also brings forward many events throughout the year to reach our community. From meals to movie nights, gatherings to carolling, there are lots of ways you can join us!

  • a vocational training facility and basic nutrition for students in Tissamarahama
  • a church plant in the rural village of Lindula
  • a gospel partnership with Lanka Bible College
  • donation of Bibles to a Church in Trinidad
